In 2002, Shangde's first production line was formally put into production. The conversion rate of the polysilicon solar cells produced reached the advanced level of the world's same industry, and the capacity of 10 MW was equivalent to the sum of all the previous solar cell production in China, which shortened the gap between China and the world's PV industry for 15 years. Through 10 years of development, the capacity of Sundhy has exceeded 800 MW and 4000 MW in 2011. In 10 years, SunTech has provided 4000 MW of PV products and systems (equivalent to 4 GW-level units) to more than 1800 customers in more than 80 countries. If calculated based on average annual power generation, it can produce 4 billion kWh of green power each year.
In 10 years, China has become a solar photovoltaic manufacturing country. However, this is not our ultimate goal, nor the reason for us to be complacent. In the future, we should move towards the direction of solar photovoltaic application country, only in this way can we truly achieve the integration of energy power and environmental protection.
At present, the solar energy industry and market have not been well developed in China, and it is easy to find out from the development experience of Europe, Japan, including the rapidly rising American PV market that the start and development of the PV market cannot be separated from the government support. The government must actively participate in the team that encourages solar PV application and coordinate resources from the perspective of the future. There must be not only goals, but also executable action plans.
First of all, opening up resources and reducing expenditure is the main way for the country to solve energy problems. On one hand, energy conservation and consumption reduction shall be included as an important index in GDP assessment of all regions, and carbon intensity per unit GDP shall be continuously reduced and energy utilization efficiency shall be improved through certain administrative binding force; On the other hand, we should achieve "open source" and encourage the development of various alternative new energy with an inclusive and open attitude. While ensuring the sustainable development of the national economy, the natural environment is improved, so that people's living standards and living environment are improved.
Secondly, energy security is an important consideration element of national energy strategic planning. Frequent international disputes often lead to the threat of interruption or insufficient supply of imported energy, such as oil and natural gas. Recently, the Fukushima nuclear crisis in Japan has made the global security issue become the focus of attention. Germany and Switzerland have made clear the nuclear abandonment schedule, and many countries, including China, have also begun to review their energy development plans. It can be seen that the choice of energy should consider not only its sustainability but also its security.
Solar energy is the most abundant, clean and safe energy in nature, which has been widely recognized by the society. However, in China, this cannot completely persuade people to choose solar energy instead of traditional energy, because the problem of expensive and difficult use of PV power generation troubles the end users in the country, which requires the government to actively learn from the successful experience of Europe and the United States. On the one hand, a reasonable and effective PV feed-in tariff policy shall be introduced as soon as possible to achieve the purpose of fire suppression and green through the adjustment of price lever; On the other hand, strengthen the transformation of power grid technology and develop towards smart grid to ensure the security, reliability and economy of power supply.
Of course, in addition to the support and encouragement at the national macro policy level, as an enterprise, we also assume the corresponding responsibility to promote market demand. We always believe that the market can provide better feedback to the industry and achieve sustainable development.
This requires enterprises to continuously reduce the production cost of PV products and solve the problem of expensive solar cell power generation from the root cause. On one hand, we should actively introduce and train priority talents, continuously strengthen technical research and development, improve the conversion efficiency of solar photovoltaic cells, and lay a solid foundation for the production of clean energy products; On the other hand, enterprises should reduce costs from the perspective of production management, improve resource utilization rate and reduce waste through resource recovery and reuse, and actually achieve energy conservation, emission reduction and clean production while producing clean energy products.
In addition, the demonstration of PV projects is the inspiration for the general public and the most effective concept promotion. Enterprises should actively participate in the development and construction of domestic demonstration projects. Take Shangde as an example. In the past few years, we not only provided green power for important public infrastructures such as Beijing Olympic Games, China Pavilion for World Expo and Theme Pavilion, but also invested and constructed China's first megawatt photovoltaic power station in Shizuishan, Ningxia. In Dongtai, Jiangsu Province, Shangde cooperated with China Power to invest and construct the first beach photovoltaic power station in China. In the transmission action of Olympic flame Pearl Peak in 2008, we also assisted the green power to accompany us and provide photovoltaic power for the base camp of Olympic Pearl Peak. We also paid great attention to the energy utilization of the island area, and donated independent photovoltaic systems to the primary schools, middle schools, villages and sentries at higher altitudes in the world, so that the residents there can live a bright life.
I firmly believe that under the joint efforts of many parties, solar PV will soon achieve the cost target of "USD/kW", and the cost target of "CNY 1/kwh power" in China will not be far from being achieved. Let every household use affordable solar energy "- With this green dream in mind, we are ready to go for the next 10 years.
